I actually like Disney Movies. Still a kid at heart. You know you have your kid moments. Laughing with the girls will never get old, so watching the Cheetah Girls as cheesy as their lines and songs get, it always a smile creator.

The thirds set to premiere 8/22

Synopsis: Chanel (Adrian Balion), Dorinda (Sabrina Bryan), and Aqua (Keily Williams) are back in the trequal of "The Cheetah Girls." In this film, the girls get cast in a Bollywood movie while Galleria is at college in England, so the girls travel to India. Once they're there, they find out that director wants one of the girls to be casted in the Bollywood movie. The girls have to figure out if they are sticking it together, or go alone.

Not To Mention My Obsession. . . Which airs for the 11th season on 9/3!

A Weekend of Tears

In the matter of one short weekend, we have lost not one, but two of the greatest and most talented African Americans in the entertainment industry.

Bernie Mac
Bernie Mac was pronounced dead at 50 years old early Saturday Morning due to the complications of a pneumonia. With previous complications from sarcoidosis, inflammatory disease of the lungs, family announced to People.com that "his immune system was compromised. He had an infection ... He was on a new medication that suppresses the immune system, and that's where the pneumonia came from". Terrible loss. Mr. Mac’s funeral arrangements are scheduled for Saturday, August 16th, at an undisclosed location. By the request of the family, all donations can be made to the Bernie Mac Foundation for Sarcoidosis, 40 E. Ninth St., Suite 601, Chicago IL 60605.

A few of his celeb friends released statements as well:

Brad Pitt: "I lament the loss of a ferociously funny and hardcore family man. My thoughts are with [his wife] Rhonda and their family. Bernie Mac, you are already missed."

George Clooney: "The world just got a little less funny. He will be dearly missed."

Chris Rock: "Bernie Mac was one of the best and funniest comedians to ever live, but that was the second best thing he did. Bernie was one of the greatest friends a person could have. Losing him is like losing 12 people because he absolutely filled up any room he was in. I'm gonna miss the Mac Man."

Cedric the Entertainer: "It's hard to put into words just how I feel and what a painful loss this is. Bernie was a brother, a friend and one of the comic masters of our time. Sharing the marquee with him during the phenomenon of the Kings of Comedy tour bonded us like family, and created a unique moment in comic history marking some of the most meaningful, memorable and fun times of our lives. His comedic approach was his own brand and will definitely stand the test of time. The level of his talent always inspired me and other comedians to 'bring their A-game.' I promise you that you never wanted to be the guy who had to follow Bernie's set! As a husband and father, he was THE MAN and my thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will truly be missed, but so well remembered."

Don Cheadle: "This is a very sad day for many of us who knew and loved Bernie. He brought so much joy to so many. He will be missed, but heaven just got funnier."

Ocean's Eleven costar Carl Reiner: "It's a tremendous loss because of his age and the fact that he was such a vital, original human being. When I use the word 'original' I really mean it. He was like no other person I knew. He lived his life to the fullest, even when we were on the set of Ocean's. He had his own little apartment and he cooked and invited people to lunch every day and he had food that was for everybody. He made very exotic things. His conversations were always different than any conversations I had with anyone else. They were very family-oriented; he talked about his wife and children with such love and it's very hard to believe that he's not with us anymore."

Samuel L. Jackson, Mac's costar in the November 2008 flick Soul Men: "It goes without saying that Bernie was one of the preeminent comedians of our generation. He was also an attentive husband, a great father and loving grandfather. I feel blessed to have shared years of friendship with Bernie Mac and I'm honored to have finally costarred with him in what I consider to be his finest cinematic acting achievement. My sincere prayer is that his family will be comforted by the warmth of love from all of us who knew and respected this man."

Issac Hayes

Issac Hayes, legendary soul crooner, was pronounced dead at 2:10 pm on August 10th in Memphis, TN, after what is believed to be of natural causes due to working out. The 65-year old Rock & Roll Hall of famer was found lying unconscious next to a running treadmill. While the family has released news that the soul music pioneer suffered a mild stroke in Jan. of 06' due to exhaustion, they believe his passing may have something to do with his history of high blood pressure. Hayes leaves behind 12 children, 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


And as if both of their passing isn't already too much to fathom, both men were co-stars in their movie Soul Men which also stars Samuel L. Jackson. According to theybf.com as well as cinemablend.com:

The film stars Samuel L. Jackson, Bernie Mac, and yes, the recently late, great Isaac Hayes in the story of two estranged soul legends (played by Jackson and Mac) who reunite at the Apollo Theater to honor their recently deceased band leader. Principle photography was already finished, so there should be no problem with getting it ready for release, but you have to wonder now whether or not Dimension Films will want to release it. Death is a big subject in the film. The entire plot of the movie revolves around Mac and Jackson eulogizing the death of their friend with music, only now two members of the film’s actual cast really are dead. Three days ago it sounded like a fantastic idea for a film, especially in light of the way Sam Jackson belted out blues tunes in Black Snake Moan. Now, it seems almost too sad to watch. Buying a ticket to Soul Men could end up feeling like you’re purchasing a seat at someone’s funeral.

WoW. Can only imagine the statement that will be released from Samuel L. Jackson now, after not one but both of his co-stars have left him. It kind of reminds me of Aaliyah's passing and the 'Rock the Boat Video' and how she floats to the top at the end of the video. Remember?

Fashion Rocks 2008!

It's that time again pretties! The 5th annual Fashion Rocks concert is set to go down on September 5th at Radio City Music Hall in NYC, celebrating the relationship between fashion and music. Rihanna, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Mariah Carey, And J.T and much more are scheduled to hit up the stage.

The two hour special airs the following Tuesday, September 9th, on CBS. All proceeds go to 'Stand Up Cancer'. You don't want to miss out!

Another Reality Series

After recently mentioning Diddy's new series with VH1, I came across another celeb stepping into the television show mainstream. Singer songstress Monica's new reality show 'The Single: Monica' is scheduled to air on August 5th on Peachtree TV. A true fan of her vocals and love ballads, I'm kind of interested in seeing what she's been up to with all this time off. With this picture, it's obvious her son's have been her main focus. Too cute might I add. ; )

Looks like Shani went and got herself a copy of the good wifes guide in her vid for 'Good Good'. The video is cute, girly, and comical. As she role plays as a housewife who has the 'good good' that keeps her man, Nelly, coming back for more. It's different from her ordinary videos and shows a different side of Ashanti. Looks like every artist out is doing their thing with their new album releases. Everyone's opting for an evolution and a new direction. Personally, I like the direction shes's going in. Some say it's the relationship with Nelly, but whatever it is, I give her props for it and think I might just go cop her album.

I Want To Work For Diddy

VH1 is on a non-stop track as they dish out more and more reality TV shows. With shows such as "Flavor of Love" and "I Love New York" with spin offs like "Charm School" and "I Love Money", there is no telling when the next series is going to hit the lineup. Interestingly enough, the entrepreneur and Hip Hop mogul that is Sean 'Diddy' Combs, has joined in and is getting ready to pitch another series 'I want to work for Diddy'. After establishing the talented Pop, R&B and Hip Hop groups 'Dream', 'Da Band', 'Danity Kane', and 'Day 26', Diddy is opting for a new direction. While he is one powerful, driven, businessman, it takes major help to run such a dominating and growing empire. ' I want to work for Diddy' documents the competition between 13 hopefuls fighting to reserve a spot in Diddy's success as his personal assistant. I've already set my reminder for this one! Diddy is pure genius, and I'd much rather watch his ratings go up than that of Flavor Flav's or Miss New York. Premiere's Aug. 4th!

The Dark Knight

If you have yet to see 'The Dark Knight', I give you permission to put the navigation bar to better use and come back to F&F a little later. Get your tickets now! With $300 million in only 10 days, it is evidently and unmistakeably the must-see movie of the summer. As the film continues to obliterate box office records, I must admit that it lives up to the hype. While 'Batman' grossed $75.6 mil in it's second weekend reaching a domestic total of $314,245,000, 'The Dark Knight' is well on its way to surpassing this record as well as that of 'Pirates of the Caribbean' and soon after 'Shrek 2' which peaked at $400 mil in 43 days. Warner Bros. head of distribution, Dan Fellman, believes that the film can reach $400 mil in about 18 days. Doesn't surprise me one bit. While they probably don't need my help, I think I'll set up a movie date and dish out another 24 bucks at the theatre. Encore anyone?



R.I.P Heath Ledger, who did a phenomenal job playing the role of 'Joker'. His character definitely made the movie. It takes true talent to take on such a character role and become the role while making it believable. (applause)

Essence Chit Chats with Trey Songz

Recently, Essence.com caught up with the R&B heart-throb Trey Songz, where he dished out his feelings on his evolution, music today, and presidential candidate Obama in a interview. After chopping off his braids, downsizing in his clothes, and expanding the direction of his music for his next album, Trey Songz' growth and maturity as not only a man but an artist is easily noted. No wonder he has girls and women alike throwing themselves at him. With his humble attitude and charming smile, he has become every teens crush as they sing along lick for lick to his Billboard charts "Trey Day" album. Respectively, with his new suave look and soulful vocals, women are beating down the door to get a piece of Songz since he has stepped into manhood. ESSENCE.COM: So I hear you're making a pretty big change soon…

Trey Songz: I cut my hair today. Everything I do in my life I do with a do-rag [laughs]. The braids are a part of me. It's been ten years, but I am tired of them.

ESSENCE.COM: How do you think fans will react?

Songz: Initially it might be a shocker, because for the three years that I've been in the spotlight, the public has always seen me with eight braids in my head. It's probably going to be a rough transition.

ESSENCE.COM: Is this change just another step in your evolution process?

Songz: With the new album, I am growing more into adulthood. I'm wearing my pants up a little more, my clothes are fitting [now], and I think it's time to step into manhood, so that's why [I decided to cut my hair.]

ESSENCE.COM: Speaking of new albums, I hear you've been burning the midnight oil in the studio as of late. What direction are you taking with this new LP?

Songz: I look to grow on every album. Musically, I have a soulful hip-hop edge, and I want to keep that base but also expand. I want to experiment with world music, soul, R&B, and a little bit of pop, while still keeping the essence of what I do.

ESSENCE.COM: Do you ever feel like the music today is missing something?

Songz: There is a lot of creativity and a lot of music of substance that doesn't get heard. I'd say it's more about what's missing from mainstream music. [The industry] wants a record that will stay in people's heads. If a song like Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" came out today, it would never get played. Everything has its place. R&B [is mostly] about love. Rappers talk about clubs. So you're either loving, having sex or in the club. I mean, Lil Wayne speaks about Al Sharpton on his new album but what's the single? "Lollipop." I dig people that try to get [a message] out. But everyone has to compromise a little piece of creativity to get a hit.

In 2001, the teen hearth-throbs "Boys of the New Millennium", a.k.a B2K, hit the music scene by storm capturing the hearts of many young girls. With catchy hits, adorable looks, and exceptional dance moves, B2K quickly rose to the top and became one of the biggest black boy band groups to bless the pages of numerous magazines and televised shows. What seemed like a friendship that would get stronger with passing years, soon withered away when these "boys for life" hit rock bottom and shocked the ears of dedicated fans when announcing their break-up. With much controversy and molestation allegations, no one knew for sure what drove the guys to call it quits and burn bridges amongst the members and management crew. As numerous you tube videos, magazine articles, and televised interviews have circulated through many mass media outlets, stories have changed and have become more detailed and painful. As a dedicated B2K fanatic, I can truly say that this break-up hit home for me. These boys were of my time, they were my idols and marked my first celebrity crush. As they disappeared off the scene, I have frantically attempted to find out the who's, what's, whens, where's and whys in regards to what happen and why it happened. Finally, after skimming headlines on the cover of popular social magazines, my eyes locked on the July 2008 "The Sexy Issue" of Vibe Magazine. In this swagger issue, they have dedicated a 10-page spread to clear the smoke and present the personal testimony of the members of B2K, as well as the accused manager Chris Stokes, among others he managed and worked with.

Here's a quick snapshot of different remarks made in the cut-throat article:

"I'm not in the public eye sweetheart! Stokes says. but he says he decided
to speak because people have the wrong idea about him. I'm a Christian man, and
I'm an honest person," he says. "You'd probably want to be my friend if you got
to know me...I just want Vibe readers to know that I treat my artists like my
family, and once you achieve a certain amount of recognition and success, you
become a target."
